Mission Statement

We, the members of the Redding Peace Officers Association are committed to professional law enforcement;

to represent the Association members in maintaining the health and welfare of its membership, address work related problems and morale issues;

to encourage the membership to work closely together in a spirit of mutual cooperation;

to encourage and promote good citizenship in the youth of our community;

and strive to enhance the quality of life in our community through support of various community events and organizations each year.

We strive to assist the Redding Police Department in continuing to provide the services that citizens of Redding have come to expect.

Spouses Behind the Badge

We are having our first fundraiser event going on this month. We have raffle tickets for sale for lots of great prizes. Prizes include:
- 3-day houseboat trip from Packers Bay
- 12 gauge shotgun donated by Old West
- Sundial Jet boat trip
- Rounds of golf
- And much, much more!

Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20
You can purchase tickets at any of the Tri-Counties Bank locations in Redding during the week of June 15th through the 20th.

Operation Blue Birthday

Our mission is to improve the spirits and strengthen the bond between children and law enforcement, by delivering a special gift while the child is staying at a shelter on their birthday.

Our organization, Spouses behind the Badge, is composed of the spouses of the Redding Police Department. The spouse’s husbands and wives work for the police department and community everyday, and the spouses wanted to be part of giving back.

Now for a brief description of how Operation Blue Birthday works. Shelter workers contact representatives from Spouses behind the Badge about a child in a local shelter on their birthday. A representative from Spouses behind the Badge and a Redding Police officer will go to the shelter location of the child with a backpack filled with a blanket, pillow, coloring crayons, coloring book, toothbrush, toothpaste, and a toy related to the child’s age. There will also be a birthday cake brought to the child.

This is a newly formed organization and program to help any child forced out of their home, staying in a local shelter. In many cases, the parent of the child does not have the funds to provide the child with any type of celebration. We hope to be able to branch out in the future and provide prom dresses, school supplies, school clothes, bus tickets or any other needs of the children. The program is currently funded by small donations from each of the members of the group and community. Thank you for your time.
